All are welcome to participate in our Music Ministries.  Specific information is below.  If you are interested in any of these ministries, please contact our Director of Music, Dr. Zahari Metchkov.

Adult Choir - Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the Music Room

The Adult Choir sings at the 9:30 a.m. service every week and during other special services throughout the church year. The choir sings a variety of music from Plainsong to contemporary both a capella and with instruments. Each year the choir presents several major choral works for the Advent & Christmas Program (typically the third Sun in December).  The choir is open to all singers high school age and above.  Even though no musical experience is needed to become a member of the choir, a commitment to rehearsals and services is necessary.

Ascension Handbell Choir - Wednesdays 5:45 - 6:45 pm in the Music Room

The Bell Choir, open to all, offers music typically once a month at the 9:30 a.m. service. This is a very rewarding musical experience requiring teamwork to master the art of bell playing. Even though musical experience is not essential, the Choir requires a serious commitment. Through workshops and other special events, the Choir learns and refines techniques that make ringing so much fun.

Organ Scholar-in-Residence Program

In the fall of 2014, we instituted the Organ Scholar-in-Residence program.  A student from CSU-Pueblo trains at the church, playing at principle services, accompanying the choir, and playing at special occasions.  The term is typically for two years, but can last longer.  Choice of Scholar is by the Music Director.

Chorister Scholar Program

In the fall of 2014, we began a chorister scholar program, inviting student singers or recently graduated singers to participate in the Adult Choir.  We currently have one Tenor/Bass chorister and hope to add an Alto/Soprano chorister in the Spring.  The ultimate goal is to have a chorister scholar in each section.
