Leadership

Pastor Stephanie grew up in Germany where she began her theological studies at the University of Heidelberg.  After her first year, she was accepted into the Ecumenical Institute and two years later got an international scholarship from the World Council of Churches to Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  

After graduation in 1989 she took some highways and byways in the Global Mission Unit of the Presbyterian Church (USA) before asking for ordination in the relatively new-formed Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  Ordained in 1993, she held pastorates in Topeka, Kansas; Fort Collins, Arvada, and Dillon, CO; as well as Interims in Aurora, CO; Cheyenne and Casper, WY; and Bridge Pastorates in Buffalo, WY and Denver, CO.  Since 2020, she has been working as an interim in Episcopal parishes through the Diocese of Colorado and is delighted to have found her way to Ascension in Pueblo.  

Besides the church, she loves cats and books, walking, knitting, and weaving, as well as music, and hopes to talk with you about any or all of them – as well as where God shows up in our lives.
